Daniel Moore, founder of Moore Sound, is one of Seattle's premiere drummers with over twenty-five years of recording and performing experience.
Dan's playing expertise includes big band jazz, rock, pop, country, fusion, and he can accomodate complexity as well as simplicity. Dan has served as percussionist in several theater productions, including Godspell, Grease, The Pajama Game, You Are The Light Of The World, and most recently Diana Moves...among others. Dan has also appeared on several local Seattle recordings, some of which were produced by Moore Sound. Additionally, Dan has toured the USA and Canada and given several student clinics and classes about his unique approach to the drums.
Dan possesses a vigorous, energetic style that makes the drums act more as a voice in the music as opposed to being the background rhythm. An early playing career in jazz standards, a keen sense of timing from a passion for polyrhythmic music, and the eventual creation of the jazz-fusion band Kilgore Trout (New York/Seattle) have all contributed to Dan's unique approach to the skins.
