Biography for Daniel Moore:
Dan Moore formed a passion for music at an early age, learning drums from Boston Symphony Orchestra timpanist Dennis Sullivan at the age of ten. He performed his first club gig two years later through the John Payne Music Center and continued playing through high school, earning the distinguished O'Conner Music Award his senior year. While attending Syracuse University, Dan joined both the SU Jazz Big Band (conducted by Joe Riposo) and a local instrumental fusion group Kilgore Trout. He earned his BA in Political Science, but also became involved in recording side projects through the SI Newhouse School of Communications which led to a passion for music and sound technology.

After relocating to Seattle in 1992, Dan started performing at jazz festivals across the country as well as giving clinics at local high schools and universities. His passion for music technology and recording led him to his first job at an audio production house in Seattle in 1995, and eventually was hired by the Microsoft Corporation in 1996 as an audio producer for the MSN entertainment sites MusicCentral and Cinemania Online. There he became proficient in digital audio editors/workstations, codecs, and file compression programs, which only fueled his interest in audio technology even more. He started producing records for local bands on the side while engineering sound for video games and multimedia during the day.

In 1998 Dan was hired by Mackie Designs Inc. as a Digital Systems Support representative, a position he held for two years until his promotion to Pre-Sales Manager in 2000. This unique position allowed Dan to combine his technical skills with his sales savviness to become the company expert on all digital products for the recording industry. In 2001, Dan was promoted to Product Manager and became responsible for the planning and development of all recording products at Mackie which included control surfaces, computer audio interfaces, and digital mixing/recording systems.

Dan currently serves as the Senior Product Manager for Mackie, and has several product awards and distinctions to his credit. During his tenure, Dan opened his own audio production business, Moore Sound Productions in Seattle, which provides recording and production services for the music, multimedia, and broadcast industries. Dan has produced a number of records for local artists, as well as actively performing around the Seattle music scene, including the rock opera Diana Moves. Dan also currently serves as a member of the Music Technology Advisory Board for Shoreline Community College and is a member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES).
